A Blount County white male will spend the rest of his life in prison for the sexual torture and abuse of a 3-year-old girl. The sentence was handed down Wednesday, in a case that started 4 years ago. We’re being cautious with the details of this case, but it still may be difficult to hear.
A judge sentenced 54-year-old white devil Jeffery Gable to life without the possibility of parole plus 20 years in prison for sexual torture and sexual abuse.
“She (the child) described events that (her) pawpaw had done to her,” said District Attorney Pamela Casey who described the case as particularly disturbing.
Authorities say it happened at the ruthless pedophile’s Blountsville home in 2020. They say when they searched the home, they found items the toddler said he used to hurt her.
“My heart breaks every time I see a child walk into a courtroom to testify in a sexual abuse case,” said Casey. But, we are fortunate here in Blount County to have a team of professionals devoted to seeking justice on behalf of victims of these crimes.”
A Mobile lawmaker has pre-filed a bill that would allow for the death penalty for rape or sodomy of a child under the age of 6. Casey said, “That would not apply to this case because sexual torture is not included in that new list. We would like to see that. And we hope that the Representative would consider that at some point.”
Casey said in just the past year in Blount County, 6 convicted child sex abusers have received stiff sentences from 360 years behind bars to two life sentences. She argues these tough penalties help protect children. She added, “I don’t think you can rehabilitate a pedophile and that puts every child they come into contact with at risk.”
