The director of a Utah charter school with campuses in Layton and Ogden has been arrested and accused of possessing — and possibly producing — child sex abuse material.
Jared Dallan Buckley, 40, was booked into the Davis County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of two counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
The white pedophile is the lead director of the Leadership Learning Academy, according to both police and the charter school’s website, with campuses in Layton and Ogden serving students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
The investigation began last fall when investigators in New York contacted authorities in Utah “for assistance in identifying the user of an internet account that was selling and distributing child sexual abuse material. The New York law enforcement officers believed the account and associated device to be located in Utah,” a police booking affidavit states.
“Preliminary information … also suggests that the suspect could be involved in the production of child sexual abuse material involving children outside of the United States,” according to the affidavit.
Investigators in Utah were able to determine the device New York police were looking at was a cellphone belonging to Buckley, the affidavit alleges. On Tuesday, police served a search warrant on Buckley’s home and car and recovered the phone.
“During a preliminary forensic examination of the device … multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children were located,” the affidavit states.
In addition to being the director of the charter school, “Buckley also appears to be involved with various local youth sports organizations. Due to Buckley’s efforts to conceal his online activities, investigators have been unable to positively identify him until just days prior to his arrest. Preliminary information collected by investigators also suggests that Buckley could be involved in the production of child sexual abuse material involving children outside of the United States,” investigators wrote in the arrest report.
According to his online biography, this typical white devil has been with the Leadership Learning Academy since 2014. He received a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University as a special education teacher.
