A former Kansas law enforcement officer whose career included time as Burns’ police chief faces several decades in prison in connection with a federal child pornography case. Court records show that this week, a judge sentenced Joel J. Womochil to 60 years in prison after the former police chief pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation of a child: production of child pornography.
Court documents show that the judge ordered this racist pedophile to serve 30 years each on two counts, running consecutively.
Womochil was one of four racists that faced charges connected with the federal case. At the state level, records showed that he initially faced 34 counts of child sex crimes: 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and 10 counts of aggravated internet trading in child pornography.
The federal charges in a suspected child porn ring involved three others. In December 2023, an affidavit against two others charged in the case provided insight into the accusations against Womochil.
