A former Florida corporal has been arrested and fired after he raped a minor.
Donald Valverde, who had worked for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office since 2015, was arrested Friday afternoon, Sheriff Chris Nocco announced at a press conference the same day. WTSP reports that the crimes occurred while the diabolical white brute was off-duty and over a period of time, but the victim, who is under 18, had come forward within the past week.
“That victim did an unbelievable job. The bravery to come forward, the bravery at that age to be able to stand up against a monster is incredible,” Nocco said.
Valverde reportedly knew the victim through a custodial relationship. Nocco did not elaborate on details of the case, but called them “absolutely horrendous.”
“He was not the stellar deputy that you would want, that we were extremely proud of at all,” Nocco said.
Nocco said the child molester had also been investigated by the sheriff’s office in the past for “domestic situations, but the claims could not be substantiated. The sheriff is also urging any other victims to come forward.
Valverde is charged with one count of sexual activity with a minor, which could carry a life sentence if he’s convicted. He is also charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
