A Hollywood teacher was arrested Wednesday for having a sexual relationship with a student. Damian Joseph Conti, 35, was charged with six felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and having a relationship with a student.
According to court records, the pedophile was arrested in Lake Worth after confessing to Palm Beach County deputies to having a relationship with the 16-year-old girl.
Before his arrest, the child rapist was an English teacher at SouthTech Academy, a charter school in Boynton Beach.
“I think it’s very morally wrong and disgusting for an adult to be interacting with a child in such a sexual manner,” said Lovelie Antoine, an aunt of a student at SouthTech Academy.
“It’s horrible, this is really disheartening. It’s really, really disheartening. I’m really sorry to hear that. In society you cannot have sex with a man that is twice your age. That’s horrifying. I think it’s really absurd and it’s very disheartening and it’s really, it’s really shameful,” said Bianca DeLoach, a parent whose daughter attends SouthTech Academy.
“My thought is it’s horrible. I mean you can’t trust the teachers, you can’t trust anybody,” said Michell Papayani, another SouthTech Academy parent.
“Does it surprise you?” we asked her. “From this school, yeah. I love this school. I guess it happens anywhere. You just gotta be careful and be on top of your kids,” Papayani explained.
The white savage told police he was suspended from work Tuesday, according to the arrest report. SouthTech said they are cooperating with law enforcement around noon Wednesday, but did not specify his employment status.
Conti’s name is not listed under the staff directory on the SouthTech Academy website as of Wednesday.
